There once was a hero;
None knew his name.
He lived on an island
And seemed the same
As everyone else,
But brave blood ran in his veins.

There once was an attack,
Fierce as it came;
A challenge from an evil dude
To put his home to shame.
Extemporaneously they knew who
Would embrace such a feat:
Well, our hero, of course!
Send him to defeat
This villainous force!

He was adorned in the finest
Cloth they could afford
And equipped with only their biggest,
Most epic of swords.
It was time to set off
To some predetermined location
Where the evil dude awaits,
Patiently stationed
At the top of some high hill
Or in a whole other nation.

Fortunately
This world is small;
You see,
It would be a bit too tough
To scale our vast seas.
With kindred luck,
There's a plot planned, too;
Waiting for our hero
And waiting for you!

First he sets off,
As heroes often do,
And enters a forest
Laced with spooks;
For in this world,
Monsters roam free,
And evil bad dudes
Can summon them, too!
With adversity comes aid -
Surreal things our hero can do!
He never tires,
Slows down or bemires.
He can swing his cool sword really fast,
Jump super high,
And shatter the hundred meter dash.

Spooky stuff he did indeed meet,
Battle and defeat.
It was tricky at first,
But he took the heat;
But our hero knows
It'll only get worse
As he leaves the forest
And enters the cove.
It's a beautiful view:
Sparkling water and an assembled grove.
The sun shone,
But the trees shaded.
It was totally cool.
Our hero was elated.

His stroll was put on hold
When more monsters appeared!
Startled to say the least,
He now knew he'd have to deal with this for weeks.
Woe is our hero
On his epic adventure to gain fame.
He draws his cool sword
And abolishes his uninvited foes.
It's truly troublesome -
It's kinda fun, though.

Our hero goes on
To his next destination:
A town in the horizon;
An abandoned location.
Houses still stood
But residents had fled.
As it turns out,
This evil dude misled
Our hero into thinking
That he was the only one
Challenged by his might;
Many battles he had won.
This town, like his,
Was attacked as well.
It had no hero
To repel
The evil dude's knell.
Sure that they wait,
Wherever they now dwell,
For such a hero to come,
Our hero is now more daring
To defeat this scum.

Monsters attack.
What a surprise.
They meet their demise.
Our hero gets back on track.

He exits the town
And prepares to walk down
And even longer path than he had yet faced before.
It was simply grass
As far as he could see;
Though there was a path
Leading to his destiny.
This was indeed
The the last walkway he need follow,
For at the end of it was his enemy
Sitting at his throne.
Evidently, the adventure was much shorter
Than he had known it to be.

He dashed past the path,
Slaying random monsters as they came,
And arrived with haste
At a castle's gates.
Why, we all wonder,
Do they choose such places -
A huge castle or other -
To hide their faces?
Not long did he ponder
On such a trivial thought,
For he had no time to waste -
There was a battle to be fought!

The gates opened for him,
Followed with a laugh
Echoing throughout -
Though truly a gaffe.
Our hero walked about,
For hours it seemed,
Looking for an entrance
To this gigantic thing.
It happened to be
On the opposite side;
So then he opened the door
And let out a sigh.

The entire castle was one room,
And in it the evil dude
Bearing a look of doom.
What came next did include
Many epic things and such:
A battle between hero and villian
With much time consumed
And an apparent end.

Our hero fought diligently;
The villian, with much avail.
The end is clear to you and me:
Such tricks did not prevail.
The evil bad dude was defeated
By our hero whatshisface,
And soon after our hero was feted
For the evil he had effaced.
The Epic Legend of an Unlikely Hero
I felt like writing a poem filled with adventure and humorous at the same time. I feel that, to some extent, I have succeeded. Unfortunately, it didn't go as perfectly as a perfectionist would hope. It turned out alright, though. I plan to do another some time with another hero and possibly more stanzas and rhymes.
